After being briefed, you will be led to the start line. You will be set off individually, every 10 seconds. Then The Hunt begins.
The 10k course will be marked with signage throughout, but it is up to you if you decide to deviate to avoid being hunted!
There will be marhsals at key points wearing hi-viz jackets to aid you where needed. Please listen to their instructions.
Then there will be our hunters. These are a bunch of professionals who will do whatever it takes to ensure you get tagged. Watch out for paint covered arrows, paint soaker pistols and booby traps. Oh, and there’s also our Predator and Terminator who will be stalking you on foot and quad bike.
Getting There & Parking
The event takes place at Skirmish Paintballing in Nottinghamshire.
The address is:
Skirmish Paintball Nottingham
B6034 Ollerton Road
There is ample car parking available on site. Please keep a look out for the signs to direct you into the car park.
The site is located on the grounds of the Thoresby Estate which you may find useful if looking up the location on the Internet.
After you have parked up, you will need to report to registration to collect you race number which contains your integrated timing chip.
Please affix this to the front of your outermost layer of clothing.
You will then be directed to the holding area where you can use the facilities, get a drink and ready yourself for the challenge ahead.
You & Your Stuff
You are very likely to be hit with some sort of paint during this event. This is actually a dye made from natural materials, so it does wash out and is not toxic at all.
However, we still highly recommend not wearing something that is overly precious to you to run in. The organisers will accept no claims for reimbursement should an item of clothing no longer be useable after the event.
The terrain is off road, through trails and grassland. As such, trail running shoes are the ideal footwear. Trainers will suffice, but we recommend not wearing spikes.
No mp3 players, phones, heart rate monitors or gps devices should be worn during this event. There is a chance these could get damaged if you decide to wear any of these.
The event has been designed so that you can take part for the vast majority without needing to wear protective clothing. While you will be hunted throughout, the means with which you will be hunted are not dangerous.
When you get to the Shooting Gallery, you will be required to put protective goggles on from the designated station. This is the only section where you will be shot at with a weapon. Any participant entering this area without the protective goggles will be immediately disqualified.
Results & Prizes
The top 3 males and tope 3 females will be rewarded with trophies at the end of the event. Given the wave start nature of the event, if you are placed first, you may not know you have won until later in the day. As such, your reward will be sent to you in the post within seven days of the event if you are unable to stay around.
For any participants, regardless of the time, that manage to get through the course without getting hunted, then there is a £1000 prize pot on offer.
So, if only one person makes it through, they will take home the full amount. If two people manage it, they will get £500 each and so on. As above, if you are unable to wait around until the end, a cheque will be sent out to you within seven days of the event.
